Background


TAHEA is a national professional organization comprising nutritionists, home economists, agriculturists, and other related social science professionals.


The organization's vision is to foster 'A democratic society with improved living conditions.' Its mission involves enhancing the socio-economic well-being of the community through advocacy and capacity building in agriculture, food and nutrition, health, and environmental issues, in collaboration with various stakeholders.


Currently, TAHEA is engaged in the implementation of the 'Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project in the Dodoma Region.


EpiC is a global project spanning 5 years, funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Its primary focus is to achieve and sustain HIV epidemic control. In Tanzania, the project focuses on delivering HIV services to key and priority populations, including adolescent girls and young women, female sex workers, men at risk, and orphans and vulnerable children, with the aim of reducing HIV infections and reaching the 95-95-95 goals. To accomplish this, the program supports targeted prevention and case-finding strategies at the community level among these targeted populations.

Job Opportunity for a Driver at TAHEA Dodoma Tanzania


Job Title: Driver (1 Position)


Duty Station: Any of the District Councils within the Dodoma Region


Reporting to: Project Manager


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining motor vehicles in compliance with road traffic regulations
  • Conducting inspections of motor vehicles before and after each journey to identify necessary maintenance or repairs
  • Ensuring the availability and good condition of motor vehicles and their equipment
  • Conducting minor/routine maintenance of vehicles
  • Ensuring the proper locking and safety of motor vehicle doors and windows at all times
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle regularly
  • Recording and keeping records of all journeys in the Logbook
  • Assisting with office logistics, such as collecting and dispatching mails and documents
  • Promptly reporting any accidents to the Supervisor or Traffic Police
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by superiors

Minimum Qualifications


Candidates should possess a Form IV Certificate and a Class "C, C1, or E" Driving License, along with completion of the Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any recognized Institution. Additionally, a minimum of one (1) year of driving experience without causing accidents is required. Having a Trade Test Grade II/Level II in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Mechanics will be considered an added advantage.
