About Danish Refugee Council (DRC):

Established in 1956, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a non-profit, humanitarian organization that provides direct assistance to conflict-affected populations, including refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and host communities across more than 40 countries. In Tanzania, DRC has been actively involved in emergency response projects since the onset of the Burundi refugee crisis in 2015, particularly in three refugee camps in the Kigoma Region near the Burundi border. DRC's projects encompass various sectors, including Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Protection, Shelter and Infrastructure, and Economic Recovery.


Role Overview:

The Supply Chain Officer (Logistics) plays a vital role in providing logistics support at Kasulu and Nyarugusu Refugee Camp. Responsibilities include managing fleet operations, warehouse activities, procurement processes, asset management, generator operations, and other supply chain duties.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide logistics support.

2. Manage fleet operations.

3. Conduct inventory counting and stock taking.

4. Oversee warehouse management support.

5. Process low-value procurement in line with DRC policies.

6. Identify and dispose of expired or obsolete items.

7. Collaborate with HR and Admin on utility requirements for DRC staff.

8. Manage assets and equipment.

9. Prepare timely logistics and stock reports following DRC guidelines.


Experience and Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 years of experience in a refugee context.

- Proficiency in ERP systems, specifically DRC dynamics.

- High level of professionalism.

- Experience with international organizations, especially UN agencies, is an advantage.

- Background in Supply Chain, including procurement, fleet, warehouse, and asset management.

- Teamwork experience and ability to meet deadlines.


Education:

- Degree in Supply Chain or Business Management.


Languages:

- Fluent in English; Kirundi is an added advantage.

- Internal: Donors, Vendors, DRC Staff, Beneficiaries

- External: Coordination bodies, Partners, Government Bodies, Beneficiaries in host communities, Staff


Reporting Structure:

- Employment category: Band H2

- Reporting to: Supply Chain Team Leader – Logistics

- Technical Line Manager: Supply Chain Manager
